And momdishjoy is my little corner of the internet!
I launched momdishjoy in 2016 while I was juggling two toddlers and a full‑time job as a third‑grade teacher in Portland. The first post was a quick “5‑Minute Breakfast Muffins” recipe I scribbled on a napkin during a school lunch break. I kept the blog alive by cooking after bedtime, and by 2018 I had published my 100th recipe. That early hustle turned a modest hobby into a place where other busy parents could find real‑food meals without the fluff.
Fast forward to 2024, momdishjoy welcomes about 120,000 unique visitors each month and now boasts a library of more than 250 tested recipes. I publish 15 new dishes every week, from quick weeknight dinners to seasonal bake‑offs, and the site was featured in Family Food Magazine’s “Best Family Blogs” issue (June 2023). In 2022 I released my first e‑cookbook, “Everyday Joyful Meals,” which has sold over 2,000 copies and continues to grow.
I live in Asheville, North Carolina, with my husband Mark and our two kids—Lily, 8, and Sam, 5. My favorite weekend ritual is a sunrise hike on the Blue Ridge, followed by a long, lazy afternoon kneading sourdough and sipping tea from my collection of vintage teacups. A little secret I still cherish: I use my grandma’s handwritten chocolate‑chip‑cookie card for every batch, because the crumbs taste a bit more like home.
